I was recently selected to be cast as an extra in a film produced by Denzel Washington starring Viola Davis and Chadwick Boseman.
I was told that I was handpicked for this scene and was pre-fitted for my 1927 era wardrobe. I learned later that the scene had to be post postponed for now. In the meantime, they contacted me to serve as an extra in a totally different scene with many other extras. They told me that this new scene would film on a Friday evening and Saturday morning or so I thought. Later I received an email confirming an overnight scene. I then said to my wife, “They did not tell me that I would be working from Friday night through Saturday morning!” She responded, “Actually they did!” She knew because I had them on speaker when they called.
At that point my attitude was not very good as I had no desire to work through the night doing this opening scene. My family tried to give me a different perspective talking about the major stars I would see etc., but frankly I did not care.
On Friday night prior to production my disposition was not very positive. But I took a pause before I went to the extra’s tent and had a conversation with myself. I said, “You are supposed to be this big motivational person and your attitude is not right because you don’t want to work through the night…. get your attitude right or this will be a bad experience!”
I must say that it was challenging working through the night, but I learned a lot through the process. I spent hours sitting right in front of the amazing Viola Davis. I was blessed to personally witness her major star power and charisma!
We all have moments where our attitudes are not right and simply need to be checked. Take some time today to pause and objectively evaluate your attitude. If it is not positive, you need to make some adjustment because it can make or break your day or someone else’s day. So please check your attitude at the door!
Make today great!

Thank you so much for sharing. I wish more people would do as you did and recognize when their attitude is not good. We have the ability to change it. You are amazing!
Thanks for your kind words!
Good information You come up with great titles too !!!!
Thanks😀!
Absolutely, the only one we have control over and the power to change is ourselves. Someone once told me, ” When you change the way you see things, the things you see will change”…..all about the attitude
I agree Sharon! Great quote…thanks for sharing😀!
