Let Love Prevail!

As a black man living in America, I am troubled by the collective pain of my people and the recurring sting of trauma and injustice that has shaken the nation at its core. At the same time, I am inspired by the support of our allies at home and around the globe who could have easily been silent friends and spectators on the sidelines, but have chosen to embrace the humanity of their black and brown brothers and sisters to become part of the solution. These diverse and united voices inspire me! I am an optimist and believe that the best of humanity will prevail. “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive our hate; only love can do that”-MLK

I pray that we all come together with empathy, love, and support for all people and especially for black & brown people who are suffering from the disease of intolerance, violence and oppression that can be suffocating at times. I also pray for leadership that leads with love, compassion, and integrity. Leadership that does not seek to divide or diminish, but aims to build, restore, and unite.

Let us unite as one in the spirit of equality and humanity. Whatever you plant will grow. Starting today, let us be intentional about planting the seeds of love everywhere we go while digging up the roots of the weeds of hate and intolerance. Love will grow wherever we plant and nurture it! My prayer is for love to prevail!
