Returning home from my four-mile walk…I heard a lawnmower and was hoping it was my youngest son Isaiah cutting the grass. He in fact was cutting the grass, but the thing that startled me was that he was wearing my Nike golf shoes. I often wear them to cut the grass-they provide great traction on the hilly terrain!
The fact that he was wearing my shoes made me reflect that my sons are watching my example! Further, it made me reflect on my legacy and setting a good example for my sons and future generations to come.
Sometimes we do not consider ourselves to be role models, but the reality is that whether you acknowledge it or not…people are watching and may literally walk in your shoes one day!
My question for you today is what type of example are you setting? None of us is perfect but should strive to set an example that is worth following! Being a role model is not an option…you either model a good or bad example! Just like my Nike shoes…your example can provide traction on life’s hilly terrains.
Set an example where if some choose to walk in your shoes…they will be making steps and following an example that leaves people and places better than they found them!
-Make today great!
Remember, Greatness Awaits You!
