Dare to Dream!

We all have dreams and aspirations-some desire to become doctors, architects, professional athletes, stylist, entrepreneurs, etc. But not everyone achieves their goals.

When I was growing up, I dreamt of becoming an archeologist, an actor and lawyer, but in the end, I went to college and received my MBA and became a banker.

Although you have dreams, you don’t know exactly where they will take you. I would never have imagined that I would be a banker.

However, it is crucial to have the courage to pursue your dreams and never allow self-doubt, fear, procrastination, or low expectations stop you from pursuing what is important to you.

It isn’t easy to go after and pursue what is important to you. Everyone may not support or even understand your dreams, but don’t let that stop you!

After working in the banking industry for years, my passion for making a more significant impact in the community compelled me to make a career transition. This passion paved the way for my metamorphosis to become a nonprofit leader, motivational speaker and blogger.

This transition has not been smooth, but worth it. I had to push through self-doubt and fear. I remember the rejection when I applied for jobs for an executive director and other nonprofit leadership positions since I was coming from a for-profit business world I wasn’t taken seriously. But I continued to push until by the grace of God a door finally opened for me. However, this would not have happened If I did not dare to pursue my dreams!

I have been fortunate to receive invitations to speak at numerous motivational opportunities from Pittsburgh to California. I was even approached to be a keynote speaker in the Caribbean. None of this would have been possible without the courage and discipline to actively pursue my dreams!

When you come to the end of your life, you want to reflect with no regret knowing that you lived a life where you pursued your passion and purpose.

I feel blessed to live my passion and purpose and accomplish things that used to be dreams. You can certainly do the same!
