As I prepared to bring in the new year, it wasn’t the best start as a loved one was involved in an accident that quickly reminded us of the fragility and ephemeral nature of life.
As many are reflecting on creating or realizing their resolutions for this year, it’s important to add the twins of Gratitude & Grace!
Gratitude is simply having more appreciation for the small things like waking up in the morning or having food on the table and a roof over your head. It may be being thankful for the beauty of the sunset or the clouds in the sky or simply being grateful that you are a better version of yourself. Gratitude doesn’t mean that things are perfect, or you have everything you want or need. It is a decision to be grateful for what you do have!
Grace is allowing space for yourself and others to be imperfect. It doesn’t mean that you don’t have high standards or pursue excellence. It’s about encouraging and supporting others as they work to do the best they can. When they or we fall short, we give encouragement and support along the way. Grace also requires that we acknowledge that no one is perfect and that is OK. It invokes a level of kindness where we do kind things for people others may not deem worthy of our kindness.
As you look to accomplish great things this year, don’t forget to incorporate the twins of Gratitude & Grace in all you do! When you do this, you will create an impact on yourself and others that will be transformational.
You will be kinder and the people around you will feel more loved, appreciated, and free to make mistakes as they work to become the best version of themselves! Relentlessly pursue Grace & Gratitude!

Without grace there can be no gratitude. Without gratitude there can be no grace. It must be paired together.
